Roles open Q2 2026 · Last updated 2026-05-28
Help us build the European MICE-RFP standard
Two roles open right now: a backend engineer (TypeScript + PostgreSQL) and a customer-success manager (native Spanish + English) for the EU MICE market. Remote-EU, 4-day-week pilot, meaningful equity, and a founder who still answers every support ticket.
Why we are honest about cash, KPIs, and runway
Most start-up career pages promise the moon. Ours starts with this: Easy RFP is in promotional free access until Q4 2026 for the Founding 100 European MICE Agencies, and a founding pricing tier for hotels. We are not going to grow from 3 → 50 people in six months. We are going to be honest about the numbers — internally and with you — and we hire only when revenue or fundraising justifies the cost.
You will see real KPIs during your second interview. You will see our cash position. You will see the Founding Program fill-rate. If those numbers do not survive your scrutiny, do not take the offer. If they do, you are joining a company that talks to you like an adult.
What we offer (the package, in detail)
- Founder-led product: you ship with Gustavo, not with a layer of middle management. Direct decisions, direct credit.
- Equity, real-percentage: cap table shared at offer. Strike price honest. No "10× the offer" projection slides.
- Remote-EU: work from wherever you can find good coffee in UTC-1 to UTC+3. We do not hire US-Pacific or APAC while the team is this small — async-only ramping does not work yet.
- 4-day-week pilot: Monday–Thursday, 8h/day, full pay. We measure throughput. If the pilot breaks, we revert to 5 days at full pay and we say so publicly — we will not weaponise it as a recruiting gimmick.
- Annual learning budget: €2,000/year for conferences, books, courses. We pay for IBTM, EIBTM, the certifications you want.
- Health: private health cover via SafetyWing Remote Health or local-EU equivalent.
- Equipment: a MacBook Pro M-series and a €600 home-office grant on day one.
- Quarterly co-located week: one week per quarter in Lisbon, all expenses paid. We work, we cook, we ship.
Open role 1 — Backend engineer (TypeScript / PostgreSQL)
Backend engineer (TypeScript / PostgreSQL)
You own the proposal-parser pipeline and the Supabase edge-function stack alongside the founder. The work is heavy schema design, Postgres row-level-security audit, performance tuning on a real customer dataset, and second-half-of-v57 roadmap delivery. You will write code, you will read OpenAI/Anthropic responses for malformed PDFs, you will care about p95 latency at 200ms targets, and you will pair with Gustavo on architecture calls where the right answer is "no, we don't need that yet".
- Ship features end-to-end: schema migration → edge function → TanStack Start route → test → deploy
- Own RLS policy correctness; write the test that proves cross-tenant isolation holds
- Performance work on the proposal-parser hot path (currently 4.2s p95 — we want 1.5s)
- Pair on architectural calls; veto power on anything that touches auth or billing
- First-week onboarding: ship one customer-visible bug fix in week 1
- 5+ years backend, 2+ years on Postgres in production (real schema work, not "I used Prisma once")
- Strong TypeScript; comfort with Supabase / edge-function patterns or willingness to ramp in 2 weeks
- Written communication that survives async — most of our work lives in PR descriptions and Linear comments, not in meetings
- Bias to ship small, measurable, reversible changes
- EU work authorisation (or already EU-resident on a visa we can sponsor)
- Cloudflare Workers / Pages experience
- LLM tool-use / structured-output evaluation work
- B2B SaaS billing surface area (Stripe, dunning, proration)
- MICE / event-tech domain background
[email protected] with subject "Backend engineer — <your name>". Attach your CV (any format). In the body, two lines: (1) one sentence on why Easy RFP and not somewhere else, (2) one link to code you actually shipped (GitHub, internal blog, public repo). Replies within 5 business days. No tracker, no CRM funnel, no ATS — the founder reads it.
Open role 2 — MICE-side customer success (Spanish + English)
MICE-side customer success manager (Spanish + English native)
You are the first dedicated human for Iberian and EU planners using Easy RFP. You onboard new accounts, walk venues through the hotel-respond flow, run quarterly health calls, and own renewal forecasting for ~80 accounts. The job is half product expert, half MICE-industry insider. You must have worked inside a hotel sales office, a DMC, an MICE agency, or a corporate event-procurement team — we will not train an outsider on the buyer pain.
- Onboard new planner accounts: kick-off call, intake-template walkthrough, first-RFP guided run
- Walk hotels through the magic-link respond flow; answer venue-side queries within 4 business hours
- Quarterly business reviews with paying accounts — measure: time-to-shortlist, adoption depth, renewal risk
- Capture product feedback into Linear; sit in the weekly roadmap call as the customer voice
- Run the EU Founding Program 80/500 invite ladder with Gustavo
- Native Spanish + fluent English written and spoken. Portuguese, Italian, or French is a strong plus.
- 3+ years inside MICE — hotel sales, DMC, agency, or corporate procurement. This is non-negotiable.
- Comfort being on camera. Comfort writing one-line Slack updates. Comfort saying "I don't know, let me check" to a customer.
- Empathy gradient: from the planner panicking on a Friday afternoon to the hotel revenue manager who needs the math defended
- EU residence + work authorisation
- Existing relationships with EU planners or hotel chains
- Background using Cvent, Stova, Bizly, or a similar RFP platform — even just as a user
- Comfort with SQL / Looker / Metabase basics for self-serve reporting
[email protected] with subject "Customer Success — <your name>". Attach CV. Two lines: (1) which MICE-side role you held and what you wish that platform had, (2) one event you sourced or sold and the rough budget. No NDA breach needed — round numbers are fine. Replies within 5 business days.
Interview process
- Step 1 · 30-minute video call with Gustavo. Why us, why you, mutual fit.
- Step 2 · Paid take-home (Backend: 4 hours, paid at €120/hr · CS: 90-minute scenario, paid at €60/hr). We pay because your time is yours.
- Step 3 · 90-minute working session with Gustavo + one customer reference. You see real data; we see how you think.
- Step 4 · Offer + cap table walkthrough + 24 hours to decide. No exploding offers, ever.
Total elapsed: target 10 business days from first reply to offer. We track our own time-to-offer publicly — if we drift past 15, you can call it out.
Roles we are NOT hiring for (so don't ask)
- Designer (Gustavo is the designer for now — the constraint is improving the product)
- Sales (founder-sold until 200 accounts)
- Marketing FTE (contractor model still works at this stage)
- Generalist "growth" or "operations" — we hire specialists with a quantified gap to fill
If you read all of this and think you are obviously the third hire — write anyway. We are open to being wrong.
